Update from Safework NSW (Workcover)
From 1 July 2016, SafeWork NSW will only accept clearance certificates from persons who have:
- acquired through training or experience the knowledge and skills of relevant asbestos removal industry practice; and
- hold certification in relation to the specified VET course for asbestos assessor work or hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety; Occupational Hygiene; Science; Building; Construction or Environmental Health as per Clause 5 of the WHS Regulation 2011
From 1 July 2016 SafeWork NSW will not accept clearance certificates from any other persons.
